A recent conversation with a happy customer...
Brian Zionskowski had long relied on another repair shop in town, but when he recently needed to have his wife’s 2021 GMC Yukon evaluated for rear bumper damage, he was told the earliest available appointment was more than a week away. Remembering the positive things he had heard about Sonny’s Body Shop, Brian decided to give us a try instead.
Upon arrival, he was greeted immediately by Tristan—even while Tristan was assisting another customer. Tristan walked with Brian to look over the Yukon, carefully explaining the bumper replacement process and noting any potential additional costs, such as calibrations. Afterward, Tristan went a step further by retrieving a hand polisher and reducing the visible blemish on the bumper, making the damage far less noticeable until full repairs could be scheduled.
Brian expressed how much he and his wife appreciated Tristan’s extra effort. He stated that the level of service he received made him a loyal customer of Sonny’s Body Shop moving forward, and he intends to recommend the shop to anyone in need of body work.

Sonny’s Body Shop began as a one-man repair shop in 1980. As the business grew, so did Sonny’s reputation as an honorable, reliable repair man. In 2006, Sonny sold the business to two young men who started their careers in the auto repair industry. Determined to maintain the same value and quality service customers came to expect from Sonny’s Body Shop, Traverse City natives Doug Rice and Robert Valleau kept the shop’s name and operated from its original location on Cass Hartman Court.
